Briffault, Herma (1898-1981)
Scope:
The Herma Briffault collection consists of manuscripts and other material.

Manuscripts in the collection mostly consist of drafts and copies of dramatic works translated by Briffault into English.  These include Sodom and Gommorah, by Jean Giraudoux; Conference at the Crossroads and The Perfectionists, by Diego Fabbri; The Good Wine of Mr. Nuche, by Paul Willems; Ulysses and the Fair War, by Roger Boussinot; Desire Trapped by the Tail, by Pablo Picasso; and Fig Tree John, by Robert Ramsey.  Also present is a copy of a draft of Briffault’s book To the Yukon and Beyond (the original draft is at the New York Public Library).

The collection also contains correspondence files (including many letters with Robert Ramsey), subject files, journals, clippings, photographs, address books, printed items, and other miscellany.
