The Peter Bull collection consists of manuscripts, correspondence, printed material, financial material, photographs, record albums, professional material, and memorabilia.
Manuscripts in the collection include material for Bull’s books The Teddy Bear Book (original edition, Random House, 1970; revised edition, House of Nisbet (Winscombe, England), 1987); The Zodiac Bears, written with Pauline MacMillan (House of Nisbet, 1984); and A Hug of Teddy Bears, written with Enid Irving (Dutton, 1984), as well as a play by Bull titled Bull in a Health-Food Shop .
Other manuscripts in the collection include plays written by Bull and Donald Churchill, including Cash and Grab; Tangled Tales – Rumplestiltskin; Glad I’ve Been Troubled ; and Beware of the Hermit, or: Someone Watching.
Correspondence in the collection includes numerous letters from Bull and others, both personal and professional in nature. Several letters pertain to Bull’s interest in teddy bears.
