Scope:
The James W. Ellison collection consists of manuscripts for his books I’m Owen Harrison Harding (Doubleday, 1955); The Freest Man on Earth (Doubleday, 1958); Master Prim (Little, Brown, 1968); The Summer After the War (Dodd, 1972); Proud Rachel (Stein and Day, 1975); Buddies (Seaview/Putnam, 1983); Judicial Indiscretion (St. Martin’s, 1996); as well as The Birth of Edward Ames; A Bronx Tale; Tom Congdon; Dark Initiations; Dudley; Mildred Mormer – 8 Hours; The Mystery Guest; Rudy; and A Summer Solstice (the latter titles are possibly unpublished).  Also present is material for an unfinished book on the U.S. publishing industry, as well as an interview with Richard Marek.
