Hammond, Gerald (1926-2015)
The Gerald Hammond collection includes manuscripts, correspondence, printed materials, legal materials, and a photograph.

The collection includes manuscripts for many of Hammond’s novels: Home to Roost (Macmillan, 1990), In Camera (Macmillan, 1991), Give a Dog a Name (Macmillan, 1992), Cash and Carry (Macmillan, 1992), The Curse of the Cockers (Macmillan, 1993), Hook or Crook (Macmillan, 1994), Carriage of Justice, Sting in the Tail, Swim if You Can, Thin Air, Bloodlines, Mad Dogs and Scotsmen, Follow That Gun, A Shocking Affair, Twice Bitten, Flamescape Now, Dogsbody, Dead Weight, E-Mail Fraud, The Dirty Dollar, Grail for Sale, Hallelujah Brown, Or: Right Place Right Time, Illegal Tender, Up the Garden Path, Snatch, and numerous untitled items. Most manuscripts are collected with various drafts and notes and marked with holograph corrections.

Collected correspondence includes letters between Hammond and A.M. Heath (agent) and Macmillan between 1990 and 1993. A letter from Hammond’s son is also present.

Printed materials in the collection consist of reviews for Doghouse, In Camera, Let Us Prey, and Whose Dog Are You?, as well as “Christie’s Classics” from Shooting Times and Country Magazine.

The collection includes contracts for novels published between 1990 and 1992.
