The collection includes manuscripts for both full-length works and short stories. Manuscripts are frequently typescript with holograph notes and corrections, and relevant correspondence is occasionally included.
Collected full-length manuscripts include The Christmas Egg (Secker & Warburg, 1958), Write on Both Sides of the Papers (1969), The Twenty-Fifth Hour (Macmillan, 1971), That Girl in the Alley (Walker, 1974), Life in the Shadow of Death (Macmillan, 1976), The Puffin Book of Gardening (Penguin, 1977), and Dead Corse (Michael Joseph). The manuscript for Time House One by D.C. Kelly (husband) is present, as well.
Collected short story manuscripts include "A Bit Out of Place," "Judgment," and "Kinder, Kirche, Kuche."
Unpublished titles include Take Her Up Tenderly, "The Blessing," and "Sisters!".
