The Frances Klamt collection includes a manuscript, printed items, photographs, and other materials.
The collection includes a manuscript entitled “A brief summary of my work as resident teacher at Twentieth Century-Fox Studio” (typescript).
Printed items in the collection consist of newsclippings, tearsheets, and issues of Action and Movie Life that make reference to Klamt and her students, including Shirley Temple.
Photographs (black and white, mostly 8 x 10”) capture Klamt with students in and around the schoolroom (1940-1969). Notables include Linda Darnell, Jane Withers, Peggy Ann Garner, Roddy McDowall, June Haver, Tuesday Weld, Barbara Lawrence, Natalie Wood, Ricardo Cezon, and others.
Additional materials pertain exclusively to Shirley Temple and consist of correspondence, photographs, and printed items. Of particular note is a souvenir bag from the Grand Canyon (with 7 photographs) addressed to Klamt and signed by Temple.
