The Jessie Royce Landis collection includes printed materials, personal memorabilia, scrapbooks, and photographs.
The collection’s printed materials consist of clippings (1930s-50s); playbills and programs (1930s-50s); and theatre posters, documenting Landis’s performances in Boston, California, Chicago, Connecticut, London, New York, and elsewhere.
Collected memorabilia consists of two awards: “Filmdom’s Famous Fives” for To Catch a Thief (1955) and the Box Office Blue Ribbon Award for Bon Voyage (1962).
Scrapbooks in the collection contain clippings regarding Landis’s appearances in London (1950-51) and regional theatre (1955-56). Also present is a personal scrapbook (1958-61), which includes items pertaining to Landis’s daughter’s wedding, as well as photographs, clippings, and three watercolor paintings of Landis by “Connie.”
The collection also includes photographs that date from the 1940s to the 1960s.
