Moats, Alice-Leone (1911-1989)
Scope:
The Alice Leone Moats collection includes manuscripts, correspondence, printed material, and scrapbooks.

Manuscripts in the collection consist of various books and biographical works, columns, and proposals, including No Nice Girl Swears (1933); Off to Mexico (1934); and Roman Folly (1965).

Other manuscripts by Moats in the collection include articles for Le Monde, an article on Giscard d'Estaing, and The Million Dollar Studs, All items are dated between 1971 and 1975.

Correspondence in the collection consists of personal and professional letters, consisting mainly of lengthy personal letters to Moats' family. Many give detailed accounts of her activities, events, and social meetings; correspondence is dated 1918-1981.

Printed material in the collection consists of newspaper columns by Moats, as well as many clippings about Moats, materials are dated 1935-1985.

Scrapbooks in the collection include numerous and extensive volumes cataloging Moats' childhood, education, travels, and hobbies, organized by year and location.
