Scope:
The Richard Scott Mowrer collection includes manuscripts, correspondence, printed materials, research materials, scrapbooks, medical records, subject files, and other materials.

Manuscripts in the collection include Mowrer's Poland, The Fourth Partition (1939); Pierre Rondot's Quelques Problemes Politiques du Proche Orient (1944); The National Associates' The British Record of Partition (1948); Parliamentary debates (1944); Mowrer's professional career resume; and various articles on Egypt dated between 1946 and 1949.

Correspondence in the collection includes both personal and professional letters dated between 1937 and 1938, some undated. Notable correspondents include Frank Knox.

Printed materials in the collection include articles, newspaper clippings, and journalistic dispatches from Mowrer. Also included are two books by Mowrer, one childhood memoir and one titled Covering the Spanish Civil War; materials are dated between 1936 and 1974.

Research materials in the collection pertain to Amman and an interview with King Abdullah, including many articles, notes, and clippings. Also included is a file titled "NY Post ONA."

Scrapbooks in the collection include articles, photographs, and clippings of Mowrer's work, dated between 1935 and 1938. Also included is a scrapbook from 1950 titled "Austria: Freelance and Christian Science Monitor."

Medical records in the collection include information about various vaccinations.

Subject files in the collection are titled "Greece," "Palestine," "Jerusalem," "George Polk," and "Egypt," and include various clippings, carbon copies, notes, papers, cartoons, and correspondence. Also included are notes on the Spanish Civil War.
