O'Donnell, Lillian (1926-2005)
The Lillian O'Donnell collection includes manuscripts, correspondence, personal memorabilia, printed materials, research materials, legal materials, photographs, artwork, and scrapbooks.  

Manuscripts in the collection include O'Donnell's novels Don't Wear your Wedding Ring (1973), Dial 577-Rape (1974), The Baby Merchants (1975), Leisure Dying (1976), Aftershock (1977), No Business Being a Cop (1978), Falling Star (1979), Wicked Designs (1980), The Children's Zoo (1981), Pushover (1992), Used to Kill (1993), The Raggedy Man (1995), The Goddess Affair (1996), Blue Death (1998), and Lethal Blonde.

Other manuscripts in the collection include O'Donnell's notes for The Baby Merchants and Dial 577-Rape, folders and envelopes containing script pages of notes and newspaper clippings, and "The State of the Game" speech fragments.

Correspondence in the collection includes both personal and professional material dated between 1973 and 1974. Material includes correspondence from G.P. Putnam's Sons, correspondence with O'Donnell's publisher, and queries by Judith Wederholt concerning O'Donnell's novels. Some fan mail is also included.

Personal memorabilia in the collection includes a 1979 date book, a 1990 monthly planner with handwritten notes, a calendar from 1997, Leonard O'Donnell's Bachelor of Commerce Degree from McGill University in 1939, and an award to Leonard O'Donnell from the American Stock Exchange in 1989.

Printed materials in the collection include clippings from 1990 as well as miscellaneous newspaper and other clippings, a printed cover of Pushover, reviews of many of O'Donnell's novels, book jackets for many of O'Donnell's novels, a church bulletin from 1995, MET opera stagebills from 1993 and 1996, a 1995 "Dagelyks Nieuws" newsletter, and a timeline of Ngaio Marsh's life.

Research materials in the collection consist of materials for many of O'Donnell's novels.

Legal materials in the collection include contracts for foreign language editions dated between 1987 and 1995, and reversion of book rights to O'Donnell dated between 1975 and 1999.

Photographs in the collection include prints from O'Donnell's wedding, prints of Leonard O'Donnell including his U.S. Army tour of duty in World War II in 1944, and hundreds of color, black and white, and Polaroid prints of family, friends, trips, skiing, and from O'Donnell's childhood. Material is dated between 1944 and 1975, some undated.

Artwork in the collection includes a few paintings, either of or by O'Donnell.

Scrapbooks in the collection contain materials on O'Donnell's stage career as Lillian Unvardy, dated between 1942 and 1952.
