The Old Mole collection consists of subject files containing research material and issues of the Old Mole underground newspaper and various other underground newspapers.
Most of the subject files pertain to topics covered by Old Mole. Topics include ecology; welfare; anti-war movement newsletters; pollution; poems; radical media; the Middle East; the military; health; various strikes; various Universities including Boston University, Dartmouth, M.I.T., and Brandeis; various other radical left independent newspapers including Other Voice, Pac O' Lies, Northwest Passage, Broadside, and the Free Press; and others. Many subject files contain manuscripts of articles published in Old Mole.
The collection also contains printed material, mostly copies of articles in Old Mole and other radical newspapers, dating from the 1960s and 1970s. Articles discuss important controversial topics such as disarmament, police brutality, Puerto Rican liberation, African liberation, gay liberation, the Black Panthers, health care, women's rights, and more.
