O'Meara, Walter (1897-1989)
Scope:
The Walter O’Meara collection consists of manuscripts, research material, and printed material.

 Manuscripts in the collection include drafts of Guns at the Forks (Prentice-Hall, 1965); The Duke of War (Harcourt, 1966); and Daughters of the Country (Harcourt-Brace, 1968).

 Research material in the collection includes several files of background material and notes regarding Guns at the Forks and The Duke of War. The files include manuscripts, printed material, and correspondence.

 Printed material in the collection primarily consists of propaganda posters created for the U.S. Office of War Information and the Office of Price Administration during World War II. These date from 1942 and 1943, while O’Meara was on the staff of the U.S. Office of Strategic Services.

In addition to the posters, there are various U.S. military manuals and field guides; pocket guides to various regions; several training manuals for training U.S. Navy pilots; button and shoulder patch designs for the OSS; items regarding the Free France Benefit at the Woodstock Playhouse, July 14, 1941; and other items.
