Piazza, Ben (1934-1991)
The Ben Piazza collection includes manuscripts, personal memorabilia, printed materials, film and video materials, photographs, artwork, and notebooks.

Manuscripts in the collection include Piazza’s book The Exact and Very Strange Truth (1964), screenplays for The Bad News Bears and Fear No Evil, Piazza’s senior thesis titled “From the Ashes of the Phoenix—Aspects of the Christian Symbolism in the Art of Faulkner,” and various partial and untitled other works.

Personal memorabilia in the collection includes a 1951 high school yearbook, Piazza’s framed college degree from Princeton University, and an award to Piazza from the Theatre World for the 1958-1959 season.

Printed material in the collection includes a play by Piazza titled Lime Green Khaki Blue, book reviews of Piazza’s novels, reviews of Piazza’s performances, reviews of Piazza’s plays, newspaper and magazine clippings, and publicity materials.

Film and video in the collection includes publicity tape reels, video reels of Piazza’s television appearances, various videotapes, and various video reels including Dallas, Grace Kelly, Family Ties, and Barney Miller.

Photographs in the collection include a mounted black and white photograph of Piazza and a woman, a black and white group photograph, head shots, movie stills, and a framed photograph of Piazza and a man.

Artwork in the collection includes watercolor paintings, one mounted on canvas.
