Scope:
The Dotson Rader collection consists of manuscripts and other material.
Manuscripts by Rader in the collection include a draft of his biography of Tennessee Williams, Tennessee: Cry of the Heart (New American Library, 1985); several plays, including Shattered Glass, Growing, Miracle, Six Dollars a Day, and Ten After Four; and drafts and research for numerous articles, mostly for Parade magazine. Also present is a draft of the play The Emperor of San Francisco, by Joel Schwartz.
Other material in the collection includes correspondence (personal and professional); audio recordings of interviews, used for articles; photographs; legal documents regarding Tennessee; notebooks; a diary; address books; reviews; and other miscellaneous items.
