Redford, Robert (1937- )
Scope:

The Robert Redford collection primarily consists of scripts, promotional material for films, and other items.

The collection contains scripts for “A Tangled Web” (1962), an episode of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour television program. Also included are two play scripts, Little Moon of Alban and Lovers and Other Strangers . The remaining scripts are all for films: This Property is Condemned (Sept. 1965), Inside Daisy Clover (Jan. 1965), Situation Hopeless but Not Serious (Oct. 1964), Barefoot in the Park (Oct. 1966), Blue (June 1967), Willie Boy (May 1968), Downhill Racer (several scripts, 1967-1969), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Sept. 1968), and Little Fauss and Big Halsy (April 1969). The scripts contain holograph notes and, in some cases, Redford has written comments about the project. The scripts for Inside Daisy Clover, Situation Hopeless but Not Serious, Barefoot in the Park, and Willie Boy include photographs of cast members.
Promotional material in the collection includes extensive publicity material for
Downhill Racer and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid . This includes multiple versions of advertising posters, lobby cards, press kits, promotional photos, premiere programs, and other items. Many of these items are signed by Redford.

Other items in the collection include photographs of Redford at an Academy Awards ceremony, in front of a florist (possibly a movie still) and at a cocktail party; nine issues of “The Red Book,” a Redford fan magazine, all signed by Redford (1963-1969); and a diary in which Redford has recorded in longhand his experiences on Situation Hopeless but Not Serious, This Property is Condemned, and The Chase .
