The Shirley Schoonover collection contains several manuscripts, correspondences, printed materials, and photographs
Manuscripts in the collection consist of drafts and typescript versions of Schoonover's novels, short stories, poetry and non-fiction along with extensive holograph corrections.
Correspondences consist mainly of letters from 1963-1970. Notable correspondents include Katharine Anne Porter, May Swenson, Louise Talma, Bob Meredith, Teri Shapiro and Howard Gotlieb.
Printed materials include some printed articles, poetry and books. The collection also includes personal writing from journals (1996), and holograph pages of notes.
