Schott, Webster (1927-2016)
Scope:
The Webster Schott collection contains many various manuscripts, correspondences and printed materials regarding the work of this editor and author.

The collection of manuscripts is made up of drafts, notes and corrected typescripts for Schott's published and unpublished works. In addition the collection contains several subject files consisting of notes, drafts, and research material for several specific projects, including material regarding a book about W.H. Auden complete with interview notes from a visit with Auden in 1969. Other subject folders concern Winfield Scott and William Carlos Williams.

Correspondences in the collection are numerous and consist of many items both personal and professional dating from 1952 to 1975.  Notable correspondents include Winfield Townly Scott, Elizabeth Bishop, Robert Bly, John Mason Brown, George Elliot, Andrew Fetler, Irvin Faust, Carlos Fuentes, John Hawkes, Irving Howe, Tom Mayer, Yukio Mishima, Eleanor Scott, Erich Segal, and Karl Shapiro to name a few.  Some few correspondences are also contained in the various subject files set up by Schott.

Printed materials in the collection consist of various articles, clippings, advertisements and publicity materials as well as books collected by Schott.
