Shedd, Margaret (1900-1986)
Scope:
The Margaret Shedd collection consists of manuscript materials, correspondences, and printed materials regarding this author and educator.

Manuscripts in the collection consist of consist of notebooks, drafts, revisions, notes, and loose leaf pages from five novels; and several other reviews, essays, and speeches. Novel drafts include Return to the Beach (1950), Inherit the Earth (1944), Hurricane Caye (1942), and Hosannah Tree (1967).

Correspondence in the collection dates from 1950 to 1985. Notable correspondents include John Imendorf, Ramon Kirau Charles B. Fahs, John Harrison, Donald Ellegood, William Ramirez, and Frank Platt.

Printed material in the collection consists of newspaper clippings and articles as well as research material, reviews, and articles regarding Shedd and her work. The collection also contains several pamphlets regarding Mexican literature, professional and financial material, and a few professional diaries dated 1961-1962.

In addition, the collection contains several black and white photographs described as a "salute to Margaret Shedd" (1983).
