Solomon, Barbara Probst (1928- )
Scope:
The Barbra Probst Solomon collection consists of manuscript, correspondence, and printed material.

Manuscripts written by Solomon include the article "A Personal Account of Franco Spain, The Transition and the American Press" as well as the articles "Citizen Proust: On Politics and Race", "A Conversation with John Updike", and "Looking for Joseph Roth" among others, as well as several stories written for The Reading Room and also edited by Solomon.

Other manuscripts in the collection include several other articles written by various authors and collected by Solomon. Authors include Yvonne Murphy, Stanley Crouch, Juan Goytisolo, Carl Watson, Donald Maggin, Tomaz Salamun, Lionel Abel, John B. Mailer, and Lindsy Abrams among many others.

Printed material in the collection includes promotional materials regarding The Reading Room, book and journal reviews, publicity materials, numerous excerpts of stories with faxed cover sheets, an article by Solomon titled "Struggling with God: A Conversation with Norman Mailer" as well as personal copies of a few literary journals.

Correspondence in the collection includes professional letters, including numerous faxes to Solomon from 2001, and letters regarding The Reading Room.
