The Peter Sourian collection includes manuscripts and printed material.

Manuscripts by Sourian in the collection include drafts of his books Mavreau’s Place (unpublished, ca. 1952-1953); Blanchatre (unpublished, 1954); Miri (Pantheon, 1957); The Best and the Worst of Times (Doubleday, 1961); The Gate (Harcourt Brace, 1965); and an untitled, unpublished work from 1951.

Printed material in the collection includes several copies of Sourian’s column on television for The Nation, dating from 1975 to 1980.

Also present are his article “A Pilgrim’s Progress,” published in The Nation in 1973; 28 book reviews by Sourian, most published in The New York Times (1967-1974); and an issue of Ararat devoted to Sourian (2000).
