Stagg, Jerry (1916-1978)
The Jerry Stagg collection consists of manuscripts, printed material, correspondence, and other material.

Manuscript material includes of both works produced and works collected by Stagg. Manuscripts produced by Stagg himself including several drafts, handwritten sheets, copies, deleted pages, and loose holograph notes pertaining to Stagg's book The Brothers Shubert (1968) as well as a few film scripts written by Stagg. In addition, the collection contains many novel and screenplay manuscripts sent to Stagg for appraisal. Authors include Ross Thomas, Frank de Felitta, James Allan Reid and Jane Alderman, Leigh Benson, and Robert Graves among many others.  

The collection also contains a large selection of research material used by Stagg to write his book on the Shubert brothers. Materials include loose notes regarding the Shuberts, mostly listing events, dates, and information on those associated with the Shuberts, spiral notebooks of notes by Stagg and others, some biographical materials, news clippings, legal documents and many items of correspondence from numerous people all concerning the Shubert brothers. The collection contains some letters of the Shubert family themselves also.  

Printed materials in the collection consist of largely of copies and publishers versions of Stagg's works, magazine and newspaper clippings regarding research, as well as copies of several TV pilot scripts and ideas for TV shows. The collection also contains a report on living conditions of Alaskan natives likely used for research.
