Stephan, Leslie (1933- )
Scope:
The Leslie Stephan collection includes manuscripts, printed material, correspondence, and legal documents.

Manuscripts in the collection include drafts, proofs, and holograph corrections of Stephan's novels Dam for Nothing (1966), Murder R.F.D. (1978), Murder Most Distressing (1986), Murder or Not (1981), Murder Most Swinish (1990), Reprise (1988), and an unpublished novel written in 1965. The collection also contains several manuscript versions of short stories written by Stephan at different times including several written for a class with readers’ holograph comments.

Correspondence in the collection includes numerous professional letters from agents, publishers, and editors. Notable correspondents include Viking Press, Stephan's agent Paul Reynolds, Theodore Morrison, Albert Pierre Duhamel, and Brad Millen, among others.

Printed material in the collection consists of magazine and newspaper clippings, reviews of Stephan’s books, some biographica' material, publicity material, advanced notices of "A Dam For Nothing" and various contracts.
