Scope:
The Luisa Valenzuela collection consists of manuscripts and notebooks.

Manuscripts include novels, short stories, and poems.  Novels in the collection include En Brujo Hormiga Roja (undated), The Lizard's Tail (1983), Realidad Nacional Desde la Cama (1990), Simetrias (1993), Novela Negra (1990), and Black Novel (translation, 1992).  Most novels include author's notes and drafts.

Short stories in the collection are undated, and include titles such as "Los Apostatas," "El Protector de Tempestades," "No Se Detiene El Progresso," "Viaje," "Cronica de los demonios," "En el museo," "El deseo hace subir loas agauas," "Se quiere," "Wanted," and "El zurcidor invisible."

Poetry includes the undated poems "┬┐Quein?," "A el lo escribe," and "El muy otro."

Notebooks in the collection contain drafts for writing and some personal notes, and date from 1974 to 1977.
