Wallich, Henry (1914-1988)

The Henry Wallich collection consists of manuscripts, professional material, correspondence, scrapbooks, and other items.

Manuscripts in the collection includes There are drafts of speeches delivered by Wallich to the Wharton Alumni Group, the Carnegie Institute of Technology, Williams College, Yale Law School, the Brookings Institute, and others.  There are also notebooks from Wallich's graduate school days at New York University in the late 1930's, as well as drafts of articles by Wallich.

Professional material in the collection includes transcripts of testimony delivered by Wallich before various Senate Subcommittees, including the Employment and Manpower Committee, the Joint Economic Committee and the International Exchange and Payments Committee. Also present are several files of material regarding various conferences and organizations.

Most of the correspondence in the collection is business-related, but some personal letters are present.  Some are letters sent to Wallich from his Newsweek readership (1964-1973).  Generally, the correspondence dates between 1961 and 1986. 

There are folders related to various financial conferences involving Wallich, such as The International Association for Research in Income and Wealth (1968).

The collection also contains five scrapbooks of clippings by and about Wallich as well as friends and colleagues.
