The Mitchell Wilson collection consists of manuscripts, printed material, research material, photographs, and correspondence.
Manuscripts in the collection include a draft of his nonfiction book American Science and Invention: A Pictorial History (1954). Also included are drafts of an unpublished novel, Davy Mallory, which was a sequel to his novel My Brother, My Enemy (1952). Also included are a partial short story and an untitled play.
Printed material includes a book review in The Charleston Evening Post. Research material in the collection includes various material used for American Science and Invention. Photographs in the collection include photographs of the illustrations for American Science and Invention. Correspondence in the collection includes two pieces of general correspondence from 1957.
