Professional material in the collection primarily consists of files and portfolios regarding plays produced and/or directed by Zambello; these contain costume sketches, set designs, scene charts, character sketches, research materials, set photographs, sound cues, scripts, scene breakdowns, notes, librettos, schedules, set props, casting, clippings, correspondence, programs, scores, and photocopied books. Also present are individual model and technical photos for sets, costume and set design sketches, press packets, press kits, notes, casting lists, research, schedules, contact lists, notebooks, and subject files.
Manuscripts in the collection include material for scripts, libretti, script outlines, and musical scores. Video recordings in the collection include several VHS cassette recordings of various productions, dating from 1993 to 2005; also present are three video discs of productions; titles include Amahl and the Night Visitors, The Bartered Bride, Dialogue des Carmelites, Don Giovanni, Emmeline, Guerre et Paix, Les Troyens, The Little Prince, Napoleon, Of Mice and Men, 48 Preludes and Fugues, The Queen of Spades, La Traviata, Turandot, La Vaisseau Fantome, and Death Takes a Holiday.
Audio recordings in the collection include many cassette and compact disc recordings of various productions, dating from 1999 to 2004.
