Burns, Anne M. (1912-1967)
The Anne M. Burns collection consists of manuscripts, photographs, and printed material.

Manuscripts include various drafts of speeches and articles by Burns.  Among these are a draft of "Highlights," for the Ohio Department of Health (1961); a draft of "Nursing Trends and Patterns for Tomorrow," written for the Public Health Nursing Section, Ohio State Nurses Association (1962); "Looking at Today and Tomorrow in Public Health Nursing"; "The Role of the Public Health Nurse in Community Health Services"; "Numbers and Needs for Public Health Nursing Services and Signs of Progress"; "Services to Special Target Groups"; "Chronically Ill Patients in Nursing Homes"; "Changing Focus of the Activities of the Nurse"; "How We Achieve Continuity of Care in Tuberculosis Nursing" (1961); and "How We Achieve Continuity of Care in Maternal-Child Nursing Programs" (1961). Also present are Reports on the Tenth Anniversary Commemorative Session, Fifth Plenary Meeting of the World Health Organization (1958); and the Delegation Report, Twelfth Session Directing Council, Pan American Health Organization, parts 1 and 2 (1960).  There are also memoranda and addresses related to the World Health Organization, including: the Presidential Address for the Eleventh World Health Assembly, by Dr. Leroy E. Burney (1968); and Notes on the Republic of the Congo as of June, 1960, by Dr. M. G. Candau (1961). There are notes and lists concerning attending a World Health assembly Meeting in Minneapolis, MN (1958); and a list of nurses who have expressed interest in attending plenary sessions.

Photographs include: a photograph of a group of women, including Anne M. Burns; a photo of Burns with Dr. Charles Mayo, one of the founders of the Mayo Clinic; a photo of Eugene P. Campbell, Mrs. Owen Rhoads, and Anne M. Burns; and others.

Printed material includes: a program from the Distinguished Nurse Awards Banquet (1963); news clippings concerning the World Health Organization meetings in Minneapolis from the Minneapolis Star, the Minneapolis Tribune, the Minneapolis Daily, and the Rochester Post-Bulletin (1958). Other printed material includes: Profiles of Personalities in Public Health, reprinted from Health Officers News Digest (1962); Anne Burns Succumbs, Ohio Nurses Review (1967); Death of Anne M.
