Cavanagh, Mary F. (?-2002)
The Mary Frazer Cavanagh collection consists of letters from her to her family, dating from May 1942 to October 1945. These letter were written while Cavanagh was at Camp Blanding in Florida; Camp Kilmer in New Jersey; Casablanca; North Africa; and Italy. The letters were intended to spare her parents worry, so there is no mention of the progress of the war, locations, or treatments. They do, however, describe the harsh living conditions, food, recreation, laundry, new friends and roommates, and appreciation for her family’s letters and packages. Also present are some snapshot photos of various locations.
