Guancione, L. Anita (1900-1997)
The L. Anita Guancione collection consists of photographs, memorabilia, and other items.

Photographs include: Guancione; her brother, in a World War I US Army uniform; various snapshots; and a photo album.

Memorabilia includes: the birth certificate of Guancione's brother, Francisco, born in Italy (1895); certificates from the Boards of Nursing Registration in New York (1919) and Massachusetts (1923); Guancione's diploma from the Cambridge Hospital School for Nurses and an invitation to her graduation (1922); a certificate from Infants Hospital, Boston; a certificate of completion of a ten-month course in Medical Nursing from the Homeopathic Hospital School of Nursing (1922); Guiancione's certificate of U.S. Citizenship (1930); two pins from the Cambridge Hospital Training School; and a leather case of medical instruments.

Other material includes: a manuscript draft titled "Anita Guancione," by Nancy Burke Mara; a letter to Anita and Lester Guancione, from Anna Davis, Peking, China (1948); and Guancione's obituary from the Arlington Advocate (1997).   

Anita Guancione donated a number of books and pamphlets on medical issues to the library of the History of Nursing Archives.
