The Massachusetts Association for Public Health Nurses (MAPHN) collection includes professional material, correspondence, printed material, financial material, electronic media, memorabilia, manuscripts, film and video, and photographs.
Professional material includes standards and publicity statements of the “Southeast Chapter” from 1994 to 2001; minutes, directories, and vendor information from 2003 to 2009 of the “Visibility Committee” ;“Strategic Planning” information from the MAPHN Open Board Meeting (2003); the MAPHN Annual Report from 2010 to 2011; and general notes, contact lists, minutes, and reports from 2002 to 2006. Also included are minutes of the “Northeast Chapter” from 2005 to 2011; and board meeting reports, nomination information, surveys and committee meetings from 2007 to 2015, among other items.
Correspondence includes general letters of the “Southeast Chapter” from 1997 to 2004; emails regarding Startup AM notes from 2007; letters regarding “Board of Directors 2012”; and a general correspondence from 2007.
Printed material includes newsletters of the “Visibility Committee” from 2003 to 2008; various flyers, newsletters, pamphlets, trail maps, and booklets from 1951 to 2011; and a poster regarding the 100th anniversary of MAPHN (1910 to 2010), among other items.
Financial material includes finance statements of the “Southeast Chapter” from 2003; various expense lists from the 2007 and 2008 conferences; information regarding the “Bioterrorism Grant” from 2004 to 2006; details regarding the Association’s fiscal years from 2003 to 2008; assorted bank statements from 1998 to 2002; and general receipts, deposits, tax statements, treasurer reports, and bills from 1992 to 2008. Also included are receipts from “Northeast Chapter” from 2004 to 2008; and information regarding the “Sunshine Fund” (2005).
Electronic media includes CD-ROMs regarding emergency preparedness, vaccination, drug addiction, and blood borne illness from 2005 to 2008. Also included are photo archives and website content from 2006 to 2008, and an undated “Public Health Nursing Leadership Guide.”
Memorabilia includes a monogrammed notepad, as well as a commemorative mug, tile, tote bag, and lunch box. Also included is an undated black leather nurse’s field bag containing syringes, pins, booklets, screen slides and general printed material.
Manuscripts include a transcript of a 2009 board meeting.
Film and video includes DVDs and video cassette tapes regarding the proper care for various diseases including HIV, Hepatitis C., influenza, and cancer from 2007 to 2010, among other items.
Photographs include a commemorative print of Mary McKenzie, recipient of the 2010 Presidential Award.
