Lockhart, Keith (1959- )
Scope:
The Keith Lockhart collection includes correspondence, film and video, audio materials, photographs, manuscripts, memorabilia, printed materials, professional material, legal material, financial material, and a notebook.

The collection includes personal correspondence ranging from 1976 to 2009, including notables Edward Kennedy; Robert Kraft; Larry Lucchino; and Steve Martin. Professional correspondence is dated 2003 and includes notables such as Ted Kennedy; David Letterman; and Mitt Romney.

Film and video includes VHS recordings of Lockhart's performances with Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic; Cincinnati Symphony; Naples Philharmonic; Boston Pops; and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Series includes DVDs of various performances of "Holiday Pops" and more. "The Dream Lives On: A Portrait of the Kennedy Brothers," (2010) one of several new works commissioned under the Boston Pops under Lockhart's leadership, may be of particular interest.  

The collection’s audio materials: cassettes, long-playing records, mini-cassettes, and compact discs dating from 1982 to 2009 include recordings from all aforementioned orchestras and symphonies. Most notable CDs include "Running Wild;" "American Visions;" "The Celtic Album;" "Encore!" and "The Latin Album," albums produced by Lockhart and the Boston Pops under RCA Victor from 1996 to 2000.

Collected photographs include both black and white and color prints and albums featuring Lockhart conducting the BSO; as well as various trips and celebrations from 1997 to 2009. Notable photographs include his meetings with Massachusetts House Speaker Charles Flaherty (1996); and Mitt Romney. 

The collection includes manuscripts of Lockhart's speech delivered to Furman University in 2000 entitled "In Praise of Uncertainty;" his introduction for "Saint-Saens Dans Macabre" performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra (2000); and others. 

Personal memorabilia includes juvenilia, plaques, awards, certificates, and degrees. Notable items include Furman University college degree (1981); CMU MFA degree (1983); Berklee College of Music recognition plaque (2008); Cincinnati and Pawtucket city keys; and a Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra Pinnacle Award (2010).

The collection's printed materials include magazines, newsletters, posters, clippings, and programs regarding Lockhart's performances from 1970 to 2012.  

Collected professional materials include various press releases and reviews dated 1988 to 2003. Includes materials from his time with Cincinnati symphony, Boston Pops, Boston Symphony, and many guest performances.

Other items in the collection include some legal and financial materials, as well as one spiral-bound notebook with notes on music (1975-1980).
