The Joan Collins collection includes manuscripts, printed materials, correspondence, professional material, photographs, diaries and journals, legal materials, financial materials, memorabilia, film and video, and artwork.
Manuscripts in the collection include autobiographical chapters from various works circa 2000, as well as various undated health and beauty articles. Various teleplays and screenplays, including “The Best of Enemies” (2000-2005) and “Sins” (Parts I, II, III, 1985) are included, as well as drafts of Fame (1983-1997), Family Affairs (2003), Misfortune’s Daughter (2003), St. Tropez Lonely Hearts Club (2008-2010), and undated drafts of Too Damn Famous and The World According to Joan. Drafts of assorted speeches, essays, outlines, and other articles are also included, among other items.
Printed materials include various magazines and clippings from 1988 to 2015, newspapers and clippings from 1984 to 2009, press clippings from 1994 to 2011, brochures, booklets, and 3 issues of The Joan Collins Fan Club Newsletter from 1996 to 2000. Also included are various programs and proofs of Too Damn Famous (1995-2002) and Too Damn Rich (undated). The series also includes invitations to Joan Collins events from 2004 to 2015.
Correspondence includes a series of letters with photographs and memorabilia to acquaintances, including Jane Fonda and Joanne Woodward, as well as various written notes to friends and family from 1963 to 2015. Various undated thank-you notes, holiday cards, and invitations are also included. Professional correspondence dates from 1994 to 2016.
Professional material includes an itinerary of her 2011 Australia tour, a schedule from “Star Trek Las Vegas,” call sheets and schedules, a 1956 appointment book, and various article and television series proposals dating between 1995 and 2009.
Photographs include assorted negatives from 1971, assorted family photographs from 1964 to 2009, and various undated commercial photos of Collins in slide, negative, and contact sheet form. Wedding and fan club photo albums from 1952 are also included, as well as a series of marine optical photos from 1991 to 1993.
Diaries and journals in the collection include a daily journal from a 2006 tour, and various undated notebooks.
Legal material includes a 2008 release agreement for the Foundation Archive of American Television, among other items.
