A Retrospective Exhibition of the Life and Work of Bette Davis
A rare glimpse of the original scripts, photographs, letters and awards that comprise this vast, comprehensive archival collection. Viewers experienced both the public persona and the private life of one of the most enduring legends of the cinema.
This extraordinary exhibition presented a side of the renowned film star seldom seen by her adoring audience. On display were personal scrapbooks, first assembled by her mother and later by Miss Davis herself, with handwritten annotations explaining the context and relevance of each photograph or clipping. Studio photographs and private snapshots, personal letters, early contracts, annotated scripts and much more were on exhibit. Relive some of your favorite iconic screen moments, and experience some of the personal triumphs and challenges through the items she personally saved and collected for over seven decades.
