The Inner Life #3
Feb. 1, 1952
Feb. 1, 1952. Running time: 17:10 (incomplete). For Thurman, the ground of the individual's self-respect is diminished without the individual consciously seeking rational and compulsory goals, purposes, and pursuits for life. The individual's goals and purposes must eventually be related to one’s 'nerve center of consent.' This relatedness brings on a new sort of religiousness and reverence as the individual's values are measured in terms of their relevancy to these goals and purposes.
