Freedom of the Spirit #1
May 23, 1976
May 23, 1976. Running time: 45:54. Freedom in the religious sense is the expression of the givenness of God in the human spirit. It is therefore distinctive from liberty. Liberty is in essence that which maybe be conferred upon another by an individual, or some arrangement that falls within the social context of the social contract. It can be given, it can be withdrawn. Freedom then is a spiritual quality, it cannot be given, it cannot be taken away. It is rooted in the very essence of what it means to be.
